Timothée Chalamet Is An '80s Weed Dealer In His Next Coming-Of-Age Story

timothée Chalamet was the breakout star of 2017, appearing in two Oscar nominated films, Call Me by Your Name and Lady Bird. He even scored his own best actor nomination for the former, making him the third youngest to be nominated since 1939.

Rather than use his massive success to jump immediately to big blockbuster films, Chalamet is appearing in another indie coming-of-age film this year. This one, Hot Summer Nights, has a little bit more at stake, as Chalamet plays a young drug dealer caught up in a world above his awkward high-school self.

He jumps from taking his first bong rip to helping organise an entire weed-dealing operation—complete with shady dudes, a love interest, and a little bit of light violence. Judging from the trailer, it could be another acting win for Chalamet with more than a few Boogie Nights vibes.
